Visite Guidée adulte de l'exposition "À la lettre. Une histoire de l’illustration"

Date:

Come and discover the temporary exhibition of the Champollion museum... to the letter. From the Latin lustrare meaning "to illuminate", the illustration highlights a text in a relationship to the space of the page that is never insignificant. Images and writings cohabit, complement each other, intermingle, invade, merge, contradict each other, take the reader as a witness, overflow from the page... From the woodcuts of the first books of the peddlers to the development of the image in the modern children?s books, passing by the popular imagery, the educational works or the illustrated book, the exhibition invites to wonder about the link between the written word and the image and about the origins and the developments of the art of the illustration. The tour is completed by an exhibition reserved for children! ABC: the fabulous alphabet book Have you ever seen a koala karateka cutting kiwis in front of a kangaroo? Or a yeti doing yoga with his yorkie? Discover in the exhibition the magnificent originals of the illustrator Marion Arbona. A work on the letter and the richness of the language. Animals, fruits, objects are intertwined: a host of details that offers everyone the possibility to invent a thousand and one funny and crazy stories.
