It was in 1927, 28 years after the creation of the commune, that the inhabitants built a church. On May 3, 1933, the architect marked out the site of the building on land donated by a Xonrupé family. The foundation stone was laid on June 25, 1933. The church was built of local granite with a traditional wooden roof structure.
