Cabaret en carton, A show by Olivier Martin-Salvan and Pierre Guillois

Partners for fifteen years, Pierre Guillois and Olivier Martin-Salvan dreamed of forming a duo. Clowns without being clowns, inspired more by Anglo-Saxon slapstick, these French Laurels and Hardys gave free rein to their whimsical imagination for this totally madcap show. In this mismatched duo, one, pudgy and imperturbable, lives the adventure motionless; the other, gaunt, works his ass off to bring the story to life with his arms and incredible facial expressions. And off we go on a world tour with this traveler, who doesn't move an inch, but sees the country like no one else. It's all about fjords, bears and mermaids, in a static epic narrated by the strength of the wrist, using simple pieces of cardboard that have been hijacked or annotated to symbolize a refreshment bar, a cargo ship, a shark, a camera or even ice skates? Jubilant, tender and incongruous, this kraft cabaret has the candor of childhood and the absurd acidity of English comedy.
