The story of Pierre Alexis Duclaux is intertwined with that of the French Revolution and the First Empire. Son of Pierre and Marianne Duclaux, he was born into a family of Duravel notables. From cavalryman in the 22nd Regiment of Mounted Chasseurs to colonel commanding the 11th Regiment of Cuirassiers, he took part in all Napoleonic campaigns until 1812. His brilliant military career also brought him into contact with other famous names: Bessières, Murat and Lasalle. Appointed brigadier general, he was made an officer of the Légion d?honneur and later a baron d?Empire. Speaker: Philippe Plantade, vice-president of CHVP. A former senior officer in the French Air Force and Space Corps, he is currently serving in the operational reserve.
