Centre historique et étangs de Charny

Departure is from the Pôle de Loisirs parking lot, Chemin du Bignon. (D/A) Opposite the pond, turn right towards the sanitary buildings. Take the path between the pond and the river. Keep the pond to your left until you reach the footbridge over the reservoir overflow. At the end of the footbridge, before the barrier delimiting the parking lot, turn right to join the road at a lamppost. Turn right onto this road. The buildings on your left are the town's former abattoirs. Continue along the road and, at the fork in the road, turn right, keeping to the stabilized path (leaving the paths leading to the meadows and pond). Reach a second fork. (1) Go down towards and along the Étang des Regains. It will be on your right, with the Ouanne on your left. Reach the end of the pond. (2) Take the footbridge on the left and, at the exit, the path on the right which runs alongside a fence along the meadow. At the crossroads, turn right. Continue along this green ribbon with a branch of the Ouanne river on your left. Bypass the first footbridge to join a cross-country path. (3) Cross the river branch using the footbridge on the left (the footbridge on the right leads back to the parking lot). Walk along the boules pitch to reach Rue du Billoy, lined with plane trees. Turn left to reach a locksmith's shop on the left. (4) Turn right over the footbridge spanning a stream. Continue along this street, with the Grange aux Dîmes on your left, then a small parking lot. Go up the opposite street, passing Rue Sainte-Anne. At the crossroads (Rue des Ponts), turn left and continue past the Auberge de Bourgogne on the right. Turn into Grande Rue. (5) Cross the street and take the sidewalk leading off to the right. Drive past the Tourist Office, then the Post Office building and, in front of the church, turn left into Rue Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul. At the crossroads, turn right and stay on the same street, which ends in the Grande Rue. Turn left without crossing the street. Shortly after passing a porte cochère, reach the sign for Chatillon-Coligny, use the pedestrian crossing and cross the Grande Rue. Turn right up Rue de la Fontaine into the side lane. At the crossroads, cross the river by the road bridge, keeping the left-hand sidewalk. (6) In front of the traffic circle, turn left into Rue de la Gravière. Follow it uphill to reach the Boulats Blancs on a sharp curve. Continue along this road and, at the junction with the road leading to Le Mouton on the left, turn right onto a track. (7) Take it down to the housing estate. At the entrance, turn left onto a paved road. Continue until you come to a tree-lined driveway on the right, just before the Clos property. At the junction with Rue de la Gravière, turn left and keep to the left-hand sidewalk. (6) Carefully cross this junction between two curves, first going slightly up Rue de la Fontaine (D16), then crossing this street by the pedestrian crossing. Once on the sidewalk, turn left to reach the Pôle de Loisirs (D/A).
