Almost two centuries after its inauguration in June 1835, Cahors' Théâtre à l'Italienne, a landmark building in the city's cultural life, has recently undergone a facelift. The completion of this renovation campaign gives us the opportunity to present the building and its history during a guided tour that will take us from the foyer to the auditorium, and from the dressing rooms to the grill overlooking the stage The tour will take us from the foyer to the auditorium, and from the dressing rooms to the grill overhanging the stage, giving us an insight into the history of the theater, beyond the architecture and set design, both in terms of the art and the building, and the evolution of the theater's professions, whether in the limelight or hidden in the shadows.
