Le Viaduc de Druyes et la Vallée de Panama

Signposted walk N°11. This circuit takes you to the small village of Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines, passing through wooded and cultivated areas. The return journey follows an old railway line. Between Les Roches and Pesselière, you can admire the Lavière cedars, and at Pesselières, the Sully and the remains of the old castle.

The starting point is on the Place de Pesselière, near the lime tree known as Le Sully. Parking available in the area near the carpenter's workshop. (D/A) With your back to the joinery, take Rue du Tilleul south towards Les Billards. Leaving the 2 streets on your right and left, continue along this small asphalt road. (1) At the hamlet of Les Billards, pass the calvary on your left, cross the D73 and go up the opposite street. (2) After approx. 300 m, turn left. Continue straight ahead on the tarmac road, then take the footpath through the woods. (3) Cross a small asphalt road, continue along cultivated plots. (4) At the hamlet of La Sauvin, turn left (east). Continue through farmland and woods. (5) Leaving the Maupertuis farm on your left, turn right (south). Continue along the path, bending east at one point. Many of the paths shown on the map no longer exist. (6) Arriving at the hamlet of La Petite Poisse, continue straight ahead on the tarmac road. Leaving 2 roads on your right, you pass hill 216 and come to a path on your left. (7) Turn left onto this track, which ends up below the Druyes Viaduct. (8) Join the old railroad line on the left; the slope is a little steeper. (9) To the right is the viaduct, opposite is the junction with a signposted path, and the route continues to the left. The route follows the old railroad line in a north-north/west direction. It passes under the D73 road, leaving Les Singes on the left. (10) At this crossroads, an old gatekeeper's house on the left and a path around it will be a landmark for following the wider path almost opposite our arrival, but slightly off to the left. (11) With the houses and farms of the hamlet of Les Roches on your left, turn left. Keep heading west, through the hamlet to the calvary at the edge of the village. (12) At this crossroads of 4 roads, follow the one to the left of the calvary. (13) Pass the 3 Cèdres de la Lavière site and continue straight ahead. In Pesselière, opposite the joinery, turn right into Rue du Tilleul, then left in front of the Sully lime tree. (14) Return to Place de Pesselière (D/A).
