BOULE LYONNAISE VITTELLOISE

The first boules games were installed in Vittel in 1905, at a time when the sport, which was just starting out in France, was considered more of a game. Boule was thus called "Jeu de Cochonnet". In view of the influence of Vittell players, the management of the Etablissement Thermal was obliged to reserve special fields in the spa grounds for this "game". As early as 1922, the Société des Eaux created magnificent playing fields in a boulodrome near the Roseraie. The boulodrome consisted of 9 games with regulation frames following the Lyonnaise method. These games were real sandblasted parquets, much to the admiration of French, Swiss and Italian boulistes. After the formation of an active federation in the East, Vittel's boules ferrées competitions attracted numerous quadrettes from outside the region. Training Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Sunday mornings on request and subject to availability. Regular 8-quad competitions (FFSB licensees only). Josiane Pizzio Cup.
