Located 12km from Remiremont, Eloyes was originally a fishing village, but later developed thanks to its water-related industry and proximity to the Moselle (Ezloye means "by the water"). A brief history The first mill appeared in the 17th century, followed by starch mills and textiles in the 19th century, transforming the town from a rural to an industrial setting. Today, the town remains highly industrialized, with a large number of companies, but also an important natural heritage: forests (for hiking), viewpoints and remarkable historic sites.
