Théatre "La beauté sauvera le monde"

Date:

How can we project ourselves into a world that is predicted to collapse? Ages 13 and up - Running time: 1 hour 10 minutes.

This is the story of a woman, Meth, who carries books on her back and a child in her arms. She rocks him, but he won't sleep. So she tells him a story: about the Earth before... She draws on her books and lends her voice to Giono, Blixen, Péguy... Going through their texts plunges her back into her memories. She knew the Earth well. Once a scientist, she did her utmost to preserve it. Did she? With Meth, we question the value of life, the meaning of transmission and commitment. We travel between hope and disillusionment, laughter and tears, past, present and future. How do you have a child in a world that is predicted to collapse? That's where it all started. A simple but fundamental question for me. A question from which many others flow: - What meaning can be given to a life hatched in such a world? - How can we find the hope that is so essential to a new life? - In addition to this hope, or failing to find it, what can we pass on to this child? - How do we face up to the responsibility of belonging to a generation that is aware of the threats to the environment, but has failed to avert them? So many open questions that guided my writing. Barbara Castin The Big Cat Company Author : Barbara Castin Cast : Barbara Castin Director: Pierre Boucard Scenic Design: Violette Graveline
