AU FIL DE L'EAU, L'ÉVOLUTION DES SPORTS NAUTIQUES EN MOSELLE

Date:

"Au fil de l?eau, l?évolution des sports nautiques en Moselle? The Archives départementales present an exhibition on the history of water sports in Moselle from the late 19th century to the present day. The Moselle département doesn't seem to be one of the most emblematic areas for water sports. However, the Moselle, the Nied and the Sarre, the department?s 3 main rivers, are ideal for water sports, as are the many lakes and seaside resorts in the region. The exhibition features manuscripts, posters, photographs, objects and videos, drawn from the holdings of the departmental archives and municipal archives, or on loan from private collectors and Moselle sports clubs and associations. The various water sports - rowing, canoeing, sailing, swimming and others - are examined both from the point of view of the practices and sports facilities that bear witness to them, and through the sometimes century-old history of Moselle?s clubs.
