Vittel's first train station is a small building dating back to 1880, when the railroad line serving the town was opened. It was later replaced by a new station, built in 1926 to plans by engineer Burnaut. The new station was designed to accommodate the number and importance of travellers from all over Europe. It was inaugurated in 1927 by the Queen of Egypt. The façade, dome (made from bottle butts) and hall (with period furniture) have been listed since 1992.
