CHAPELLE SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL

The Chapelle Saint Vincent de Paul is located on the edge of the Vackenberg forest, on private property with authorized access. The chapel was originally a simple resting place dedicated to the Saint of the Poor, erected in 1832 by Georges Gast and Marie-Anne Seiller, his pious wife. Many local residents came to pay their respects. The resting place, too small, was enlarged and became a chapel in 1947. It was blessed by parish priest Wittman, who asked Aloïs Basile Meujan, Bishop of Nancy, to bless it. Inside the chapel, you can admire stained glass windows from the former Guntzviller church, which was destroyed during the Second World War, an unsigned painting of Saint Vincent rescuing children, and a number of statues.
