Stage "Le clown ou l'art du ratage"

Date:

Le Fil d'Ariane invites you to take part in this workshop, led by Georges Besombre. Georges Besombre is an actor, clown and teaching artist with a state diploma in dramatic art. He teaches theater and the art of clowning to amateurs, professionals, conservatories and theater schools. He himself was trained in clowning by Jean-Bernard Bonange (le Bataclown), Bernard Mangin (cirque Alberto), Ami Hattad / Hélène Gustin (Rire Médecin) and Alain Gautré. He was Felix, Proserpine's companion in "Unbreakable, l'amour au bord du monde" by and with Pascale Bessard. Registration required. Places limited. [email protected]

Course content: Coming from an unknown place, the clown has fallen. Destitute, alone, in need of love, like a bird that has fallen out of its nest, the clown gets back up, but stumbles at every step and collides with a world he doesn't know, whose rules and workings surprise, elude and disturb him. He's the anti-hero, the one who tries to get off the ground but keeps getting his feet stuck in the carpet. Optimistic and open to everything, he's discovering things for the first time. He's in the here and now, and only lives through the eyes of others. Unlike in the theater, the clown actor doesn't play a character written by an author. He is that character. He is its author and performer. Clowning presupposes total commitment, constant alertness and an immediate readiness to spot and allow imbalance to flourish; where it misses, limps, stumbles, escapes, flees, skids, triggers laughter (often at the clown's expense) to turn it into a poem. For the actor, clowning means learning that precious freedom to be totally himself, even to the point of ridicule.
