Located on one of the very places where the terrible fighting of 1918 took place, the necropolis contains the bodies of 1312 French soldiers who fell during the fighting at Vouziers in 1918, 259 of whom rest in two ossuaries. Created at the end of the fighting, this necropolis was laid out until 1935 to house the bodies exhumed from isolated graves or temporary military cemeteries located south of Vouziers. Among the French combatants are the remains of 6 Russian soldiers. The bereaved families erected, inside this necropolis, a stone obelisk dedicated to the soldiers of the units engaged in 1918. This place of remembrance is located near a German cemetery where 3088 soldiers are buried.
