DOMAINE DU HAUT PUISET

Perched on its ancestral hill overlooking the Loire Valley, the Domaine du Haut Puiset in Mesnil-en-Vallée, Maine-et-Loire is spread over 25ha on the north and south banks of the river. A family estate since 1950, its terroir is distinguished to the north by its greasy schists and soils developed from eruptive rocks, and to the south at Ingrandes-sur-Loire, by the mist from the Loire that slips through the vines, creating a climate favorable to the development of noble rot and thus producing an exceptional sweet white wine. The Denis family's vineyards are cultivated using sustainable methods, with the vines grassed over and the soil worked. The estate offers a wide range of wines: AOC Anjou white and red, Anjou Villages, Anjou Coteaux de la Loire, Cabernet d'Anjou, Crémant de Loire white and rosé, Sauvignon, Chardonnay. Sylvie, Gérard and Jean-Louis offer these wines for tasting, with an unobstructed view over the Loire Valley. A privileged moment just a few kilometers from the Loire villages of Montjean-sur-Loire and Saint-Florent-le-Vieil! Our favorite: their Anjou Coteaux de la Loire, a mellow wine with aromas of figs and quince.
