28 ÈME FESTIVAL DE FIBRES EN MUSIQUE À MONTJEAN-SUR-LOIRE

De Fibres en Musique is a meeting of cultures and generations. Created 28 years ago on the initiative of former hemp growers in the Loire Valley, it shows how hemp was grown and processed in the region up until the mid-1960s, to make rope, textiles and other products. Now, a new era has dawned, and hemp is making a comeback with new outlets, providing an opportunity to discover a little more? And what about other fibers? The festival takes over the charming Loire village with musical and street entertainment, various workshops (DIY & Biodiversity), an eco-bio and craft market, hemp-working demonstrations, wooden games, accrovoile, catering and the Loire flotilla, all on the program! The festival welcomes several thousand people over the weekend Listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage in France in 2020, by the French Ministry of Culture.
