CIRCUIT DECOUVERTE DE LA MÉNITRÉ

La Ménitré is a commune whose origins date back to 1824, when several hamlets were brought together. Until the end of the 19th century, its activities focused on both the hemp-growing valley and the Loire River, where goods converged. The decline of the Loire Navy and the marketing of hemp cloth led the commune to specialize in seed production. Today, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park, this village on the banks of the Loire has returned to the river and its landscapes.
