LAC DE BORN

The Lac du Born is located in the communes of Les Salces and Machastel, on the Aubrac plateau. With a surface area of 151 hectares, it is surrounded by wetlands and peaty areas, which make it ecologically interesting. They are notably home to populations of European otter, curlew, drosera rotundifolia, swimming flute, ... so many protected and/or endangered species living in these exceptional areas. In addition to its rich biodiversity, the Born lake offers a typical panorama of the landscapes of the Aubrac plateau.
