Circuit de randonnée : Le tour du Petit Ballon

Le Petit Ballon culminates at 1250 metres and offers a panoramic view. On the route, discover the remains of the First World War, its view over the Valley of Munster and Guebwiller. In an area of less than 30 minutes, 4 Farm Inns are easily accessible on foot and by car (Rothenbrunnen, Kahlenwasen, Buchwald and Strohberg Farm Inns). Stages of the route : Take the "Petit Ballon sommet" trail (red triangle) and walk along the fence. At the summit, pass the chicane on the left and take the red easel towards "Strohberg - statue of the Virgin". Do not take the GR532 yellow rectangle on the left. Pass the chicane of the fence The red easel on the left goes down with a beautiful view of the Wasserburg valley (impassable if there is snow). We find the way back From the car park, take the "red easel" and follow this path to the right in the direction of the Strohberg. In a bend, turn right down the small path (red easel) to the Strohberg farmhouse inn. At the farmhouse, take Schellimat (yellow ring). The Schellimat Youth Hostel can be seen below the blockhouse. Take the path (yellow ring) which leads up to the right in the direction of Rothenbrunnen. Nice view of the Great Ballon. Further on do not take the path on the right "Petit Ballon sommet 1272 m". At the end of the forest take "Rothenbrunnen F.A. direct". The Friends of Nature refuge can be seen below. When you arrive at the refuge, take the Petit Ballon car park (yellow ring) to the starting point.
