An eroded rock with fantastic looks. Access : 10 min of hiking
The Old Windstein is a semi-troglodytic castle built by the Hohenstaufen family at the end of the 12th century. With all its range of underground galleries, it uses a rocky bar that stands on a 410-metre high peak. It was badly hit by the attacks of the Strasbourgeois in 1332, and was definitively destroyed in 1676 by French troops.
