France > Grand Est > Bas-Rhin > 67290 > Wingen-sur-Moder

The gardens, structured in 3 areas, are a real complement to a visit to the Lalique Museum in the summer.

The gardens are a real complement to a visit to the Lalique Museum in the summer. Through the choice of essences, they allow you to link the creations to the nature so much observed by René Lalique. They are structured in three spaces, which are as many possibilities to show the creative potential of plants: - classic flowerbeds on the museum forecourt, - a floral garden, the layout of which depends on the colours and flowering times, offers a wide range of plants, from lilies to anemones, dahlias and blueberries (visible but not accessible) - a wooded garden located on the roof of the permanent exhibition completes this ensemble. An interpretation trail has also been set up to help visitors understand the history of the Hochberg glassmaking site, but also, more generally, the history of the Vosges du Nord glassworks, by offering a reading of the spaces and buildings Visitors will be led to discover the elements that go into the composition of glass and crystal (sand, potash) and why glassmakers settled in the region in particular.
