Le sentier des verriers

This trail was created on the initiative of the association "Les Amis du musée Lalique". This trail is a loop, marked by the Club Vosgien, starting from the museum. It invites visitors and hikers to discover the emblematic sites of the glass city that is Wingen sur Moder. The glassmaking past has had an important impact on the environment and on the urbanization of the village. Thus, the three kilometer long settlement is directly linked to the glass factories that have existed for more than 300 years. The installation of the René Lalique factory at the beginning of the 20th century has perpetuated the glass industry with the success that we know today. The walker will follow the traces left by the glass industry as he passes through the forest and the village. Historical explanations will be provided by twelve illustrative panels at different stages of the route. The walk, which lasts about 3 hours and is 8.5 km long, will delight both young and old.
