It is in the South of the Appellation, in the area of the village of Saint-Mont, that the Adour river is found. Bordered by rolled pebbles and variegated clays, the Adour has played a major role in the development of this Appellation. It is indeed thanks to this river that the wines were exported in the 16th and 17th centuries. Hiking trails and walks can be discovered along the pebbled banks of the Adour.
