It suffered significant destruction during the Wars of Religion and the passage of the Huguenots, around 1569, as reported in this text of the time: "the divine service was done by a vicar as was customary, but not so honorably because the churches were ruined and burned by the people of the said religion. The three large pointed arches, still visible, led to chapels which have now disappeared. The wood and stone construction that borders the building was probably used, under the Ancien Régime, to store the products of the tithe.
