VILLAGE D' AYZIEU

Situated on the left bank of the Douze, 10kms west of Eauze, the commune of Ayzieu contains vestiges of Roman civilisation, tegulae and rubble stones, as well as an ancient church: Saint Loubert (formerly St Luperc). The commune also has more recent monuments. Come and visit the 18th century parish church, remarkable for its wooden gallery with superimposed arches, which seems to have been inspired by the one in Monclar, and stop at the pretty country church of Le Pin. At the highest point of the village, the remains of a windmill welcome you: from this place, you can discover a magnificent view of the Pyrenees.
