13th-14th century castle restaured in 1982 by the "Association du Château de Taurines", in collaboration with "Les Compagnons du Devoir". Every summer since 1985, an exhibition of contemporary art is presented in this exceptional setting.
Since 1985, the château has hosted a contemporary art exhibition every summer, making it a veritable artistic showcase. This 13th-14th century château in the heart of the small rural village of Taurines, in the commune of Centrès, Aveyron, has been brought back to life by a volunteer association. From 1981 onwards, the Compagnons du devoir (journeymen) created a number of masterpieces, including a hollow-core spiral staircase, a suspended keystone vault, a monumental door and fireplaces. The association's volunteers organized numerous cultural events at the château to help finance the work. This was the impetus behind the first initiatives to promote contemporary art in the Aveyron department. > Marked hiking trail from the château (1h30). In the village: the church and its wooden altarpiece. > Don't miss the hikes to the glass furnaces on the banks of the Viaur and Céor rivers.
