Château de Montbertoin

For a romantic weekend away, head to Montreuil-aux-Lions, at the gateway to Champagne, for a romantic getaway in the heart of the Champagne vineyards. You'll be welcomed by owner Dominique, who has spent 10 years restoring the château. A former Templar estate, it was destroyed and then rebuilt as a town house. Leave the kids with their grandparents (or aunties or friends!), pack your bags (and don't forget your bathing suit!) and head for this first village on the Champagne Tourist Route. As soon as you arrive, take a seat on the terrace, glass of champagne in hand, offered by the owner in the middle of this French-style park. Feel like cooling off? Head for the indoor pool, then the Jacuzzi under its skylight, where the sun caresses your face... Relax and take your time... If you wish, Dominique can even arrange for two beauticians to give you a relaxing massage... Then return to your vaulted room and bask in the bathtub before enjoying (by reservation, of course!) your host's dinner (made with his own hands and according to his mood!) in a cosy lounge with white tablecloths, beautiful crockery and candles. you'll be served 3 courses with champagne and wine... What could be more romantic? Your evening ends by the fireside, before you drift off to Morpheus's arms for a night of blissful relaxation... The next day, enjoy breakfast and a stroll around the park, or why not ask for the loan of a bike for a ride along the Marne? Let yourself be carried away...
