Notre-Dame Abbey was one of the great abbeys of Soissons, along with Saint-Jean-des-Vignes and Saint-Médard. In its time, it was one of the largest women's convents in northern France. The French revolution contributed to the destruction of this abbey, of which only 2 Romanesque arches remain today near the church of Saint-Pierre.
