Part of the European "Natura 2000" ecological network, the Marest-Dampcourt natural site comprises the Grande Pâture and Grands Clos-Sud sites in Marest-Dampcourt and the Forière-Nizard site in Abbécourt.

Integrated into the European ecological network "Natura 2000", the natural site of Marest-Dampcourt is composed of the sites of the Grande Pâture and the Grands Clos-Sud in Marest-Dampcourt and the Forière-Nizard in Abbécourt. It is located in a paratourbous sector of the Moyenne Vallée de l'Oise, an alluvial flood valley of national importance. These sites form however an enclave quite different from the other environments of the Oise Valley. They are the few remaining open paratourbous sectors of the valley. Numerous species (Marsh copper, Dryad lizard or Bluebird) find favorable living conditions here.
