It can be reached by numerous stairs and paths, the Promenade des Capucins offers its long tree-lined paths to walkers, the city unfolds under their feet, from the old part of the city to the modern city. Its name comes from the former monastery built in the 17th century by the Capuchins, who were called to Saint-Mihiel to counterbalance the effects of the Reformation. Of the monastery only a few stone benches and old walls remain, but all the mysticism of the place.
