TEMPORARY CLOSURE Start: Mirecourt, place Thierry Distance: 7.5 km Average time: 2h30 Discover the pleasures of walking along the Madon River, with its many views over Mirecourt, Mattaincourt and the surrounding countryside. Discover the Oultre chapel and vineyards along the way... FFRandonnée yellow markings 1. Leave Place Jules-Ferry and cross the 18th-century Pont Stanislas. Turn right immediately and continue along the Madon towards a small square. From here, take the narrow path and climb the stairs to the Chapelle de la Oultre. Turn right behind the chapel (11th century) to reach the Rue du Haut-de-Chaumont, which turns right. 2. At the fork in the road, turn right onto the Promenade du Haut-de-Chaumont. Follow the small asphalt road through the woods for about 300 m. 3. Leave the road and take the path on the right. Continue along the Madon River. Continue along the river, which repeatedly enters the forest canopy. The forest then gives way to orchards, with the Mattaincourt church in the background. 4. Take the path on the left. Climb towards the plateau through meadows, vineyards and orchards on the hillside (with a fine view of the village of Mattaincourt). On the plateau, continue along the path to the right, then turn left at the end. Continue over the D166 to the reservoir (view of the villages of Vroville and Villers). 5. Turn left and follow the road back down to Mirecourt. After a pond on the right, take the farm track on the left for a few dozen metres. 6. Turn right onto the downhill path and return to the fork in the road. 2. Follow the outward route back to the start.
