LA CÔTE D'ARRY

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57680 > Arry

The village of Arry, perched on the heights of the Moselle hills, offers breathtaking views over the Moselle valley and the Lorraine plateau. Along the hiking trail, you can discover former German blockhouses from the First World War, as well as the traces of a funicular. A discovery trail, called "Concrete and men", shows you the German construction carried out in this forest as part of the 2nd line of fortifications of Metz during the First World War. This privileged site is conducive to the development of a fauna and flora characteristic of limestone grasslands. Fruit trees and vines grow on the well-exposed slopes of the hillsides of Lorry-Mardigny, a commune that has the particularity of having two 12th century churches and castles that are now private. The paths are marked out in a network, which allows you to compose your walk at your convenience. Marking: yellow rectangle.
