It is the oldest monument in the historic centre of Nancy and the only remnant of the medieval fortifications. Symbol of the Old Town district, it was built in the 14th and 15th centuries and its towers were used as a prison until the 19th century. Its brick and stone vault, restored in 2013, is quite remarkable Only visible from the outside.
