The monument of Our Lady of the Airs consists of a 17-metre high square-based tower, surmounted by a three-metre high cast iron statue of the Virgin. The interior is organised as a chapel and three marble plaques are fixed to the walls; they recall the names of the children of Dieulouard who died for the Fatherland. They also specify that this monument was erected just after the war of 1914-1918 and that the parish priest had made a vow during this conflict. Built on the edge of the limestone cliff overlooking Scarpone and the Moselle valley, the building can be seen from far away and is illuminated at night to enhance its beauty. In ancient times there was a hermitage dedicated to St. Madeleine on this site, so that the place is called "the rocks of the Chapel".
