ÉGLISE SAINT-MAXIMIN

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57570 > Boust > 107 rue Saint-Maximin

The St-Maximin church was designed by one of the great post-war architects, Georges-Henri Pingusson, a disciple of Le Corbusier. Completed in 1962, it is the first circular church in France, and is considered a masterpiece of contemporary sacred art. From the stained glass window designed by Henri-Martin Granel (1914-2008), master glassmaker, to the church door, created by the painter Jean Olin (1894-1972); from the works of the sculptor Jean Lambert-Rucki, creator of the crucifix surmounting the altar and the frescoes decorating its base, to the curved blue stained glass window created by Silvano Bozzolini, everything is harmoniously and soberly combined to bring people together. It is classified as a Historical Monument in 2014.
