An old winegrower's village at the foot of the Moselle hills Norroy-le-Veneur boasts an exceptional nature and built heritage: numerous fountains, a fortified church and an old mill. Don't miss the amazing oak fountain located in the middle of the forest. If the village of Norroy owes its name to the walnuts (from "Nogaredum": the Walnut Country), it is also known for its vineyards until the 19th century. To counter the ravages of phylloxera, it developed the cultivation of fruit, strawberries and fruit trees, as witnessed by the orchards that still occupy the slopes. Occupied with certainty since the Merovingian period, the village also boasts an exceptional built heritage: numerous fountains, its fortified church and the old mill whose last extension and bucket wheel date from 1845.
