PARC DU CHATEAU DE MONTAIGU

France > Grand Est > Meurthe-et-Moselle > 54410 > Laneuveville-devant-Nancy > 167 Rue Lucien Galtier

Located in both Jarville-la-Malgrange and Laneuveville-devant-Nancy, this 14-hectare park is an open book on the art of gardens and the heritage of Lorraine. Different atmospheres are revealed between the Féru des Sciences and the castle. The wooded areas around the museum are followed by a beautiful panorama of the castle and its clearing of hundred-year-old trees: lime, Atlas cedar, chestnut and a gigantic pedunculate oak Elements of the classical garden (à la française) still remain: the water mirror near the castle and the large alignments of straight trees. Some of the statues, loves and vases coming from the former castle of La Malgrange contribute to the charm of the place. The chapel evokes the numerous hermitages that sprang up around Nancy in the early 17th century.
