CHAPELLE SAINT-ROCH

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57170 > Chambrey

The St. Roch Chapel, named after the patron saint of the sick and disabled, is somewhat hidden by vegetation. It was built in 1819 by François Perquel and his wife. It was then enlarged in 1856 thanks to donations from the inhabitants of the commune. A spring next to the chapel had, according to the legend, healing virtues. A pilgrimage still takes place today in August.
