COMMUNAUTE DE COMMUNES DU SAULNOIS

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57170 > Château-Salins > 14 Ter Place de la Saline

Located in the south of the department, the Saulnois is marked, both in its landscapes and its culture, by the rich history of salt. The Salt Museum and the salt ponds of Marsal, the Royal Saltworks of Dieuze as well as the gate of the Saltworks of Moyenvic testify to this. Its natural environments are a paradise for exceptional flora and fauna such as the Côte de Delme and its orchids, the Etang de Lindre and its multitude of ornithological species, the wetlands near Francaltroff and the Seille valley. The Domaine de Lindre, the Maison du Pays des Etangs and the numerous hiking trails allow visitors to discover this exceptional natural heritage. The Pays du Saulnois is also the birthplace of Georges de La Tour, born in Vic-sur-Seille. A departmental museum is dedicated to him. The Saulnois offers visitors a range of exceptional heritage sites, sumptuous organs around Albestroff, departmental museums, listed colleges and churches, a contemporary art centre...
