CIRCUIT DES GRANDS BOIS

Thank you to the Vosges club for the realization of this hike and the work done by its teams throughout the year to mark out and maintain these paths. Blue disc beaconing 20 km Shady hike in the communal forest of Épinal, sheltering trees and remarkable sites. At the entrance of the forest, turn right on the marked forest road (blue disc). After the brook, continue to the left for 600 m. Then turn left onto the path marked out (blue triangle) and then 400 m on the Void des roches path. In the bend, at the crossroads, take the path on the right that leads to the roche de la Grenouille. A little further on, take the path of the Dukes, marked out (yellow diamond) which leads you to the cross of the Bossottes after passing near a large Douglas, a remarkable tree. Turn left on the chemin du Saint-Oger to reach a crossroads. Drive on the forest road of Maisonfaing for 3 km to pass near the "grands Douglas", a group of remarkable trees located slightly out of the way. Leave the "grands Douglas" and take on the right the path marked out (full blue disc) and (yellow diamond) in the direction of the Charlot rocks following a pretty small rocky valley. Cross the brook on the right and continue on the path until you reach the drop rock. Shortly after the latter, take the marked path (red cross) for 600 m and at the crossroads turn right into the Charmois trench to reach the Bossottes cross again. Turn left on the Chemin des Prés Barthes. About 100 m further on, take the marked path (blue disc) to reach the starting point, Folie Finot car park.
