LA CROIX GUILLAUME

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57560 > Saint-Quirin > Forêt

The hamlet of La Croix-Guillaume, occupied from the 1st to the 3rd century, concentrates on a small area, habitats, sanctuary, necropolis and sandstone quarries. This site is a good example of a rural occupation that developed during the Gallo-Roman period. The furniture found during the excavations is in the Musée du Pays de Sarrebourg. The marked out site is open to the public. A free guided tour can be organised for groups on prior request. Access: 17km south of Sarrebourg, on the D44 and D96 to Saint-Quirin, then towards Abreschviller.
