SUR LES PAS DES COMTES

France > Grand Est > Moselle > 57200 > Frauenberg > Rue du cimetière

An information panel on the circuit is set up at the start of the hike. Follow the signs with a red ring in both directions to find your way. With the remains of its 14th-century castle, listed as a historic monument, Frauenberg is the highlight of this walk. On this hike, your footsteps may take you along the paths once used by the masters of this land as they circled their estates or hunted on their land. First mentioned in 1371, when Frédéric de Sierck named himself Lord of Frauenberg, the castle has been owned by successive lords and counts over the years. The Jewish cemetery and the Fraunberg historical trail are further points of interest in this charming little Moselle village. A pedestrian link between France and Germany, the Pont de l'Amitié (Friendship Bridge) over the Blies offers a breathtaking view of the river and the village's old mill. From the heights overlooking the Blies Valley, you can also admire planes and gliders taking off from or approaching the Sarreguemines-Neunkirch airfield.
