Discover abstract expressionism through the works of one of its major figures: Jackson Pollock. During the workshop, children discover the technique of Action Painting, the challenges of body expression and performance.

Painting in the manner of Pollock, as the artists of Art & Language have done in their turn, is a playful activity much appreciated by children. Free of all constraints, abstract expressionism emphasizes the use of colors and materials in an unbridled creativity. Jackson Pollock is an American painter of abstract expressionism, born in 1912 in Cody, Wyoming and died in 1956 in Springs, New York. World famous during his lifetime, he produced more than 700 works, finished paintings, painted or sculpted essays and drawings as well as a few prints. Pollock had a decisive influence on the course of contemporary art. In 1945, Pollock married the painter Lee Krasner who had a decisive influence on his career and on the development of his work.
