La Chapelle Sainte-Reine à Villiers-Saint-Benoît

The departure and return point is located at the Pâtis leisure area on the outskirts of the village in the direction of Mézilles. (D/A) Reach the level crossing. Opposite it, turn left to take the path towards Chapelle Sainte-Reine. Take the first track on the left. At the chapel, go straight ahead and, after a 90° curve, cross the railroad line (watch out for the tourist train). Go up the path between the hedge on the left and a field on the right. Continue this way through a wooded area to reach a crossroads of four paths. (1) Go downhill on the left, carefully crossing the railroad again and then the Ouanne on the Passerelle Cheval. (2) Carefully cross the D950 and take the track opposite. Leave the paths on your right (not shown on the IGN map, but still there). Reach a junction of three paths. (3) Turn left. Leave a path on the left (a chain blocks access to this private path). (4) At the crossroads and in front of the market-gardening farm, cross the road and turn left, skirting the property on the right-hand shoulder. Leave the road at the entrance to the curve and continue along the track on the right, which leads to a tarmac road. (5) Turn right, then left, into the lane about 100 m further on. Continue along the hedges on either side. When you reach a traffic lane, fork left. At the cemetery crossroads, turn left and then right into Rue des Trois Croix. (6) Carefully cross Rue Augustin Boyer and continue straight ahead. Turn right into Rue des Ferriers and, after crossing a branch of the Ouanne, reach the Ferriers wash-house. After the visit, rejoin Rue Augustin Boyer. (6) Turn left without crossing it. Keep to the left-hand sidewalk for about 50 m, then descend into the alleyway that leads to the back of the church. Keeping the church on your left, you come out in front of the château. When you reach Rue Augustin Boyer, keep to the left-hand sidewalk. At the crossroads, turn left. (7) Pass the Museum entrance, cross the Ouanne and join the Pâtis leisure area (D/A).
