Signposted walk N°75. Le Ferrier de Tannerre can be discovered under the shade of this forest, exploited for its iron ore in Gallo-Roman times

Departure is from the Town Hall courtyard (ample parking). (D/A) As you leave the courtyard, turn left down Rue Saint-Blaise. Cross the first bridge, then the second, leaving the church on your left. At the crossroads (Rue de Lestrade), turn right, leaving the chapel¹ on the left, and continue to the first path on the right. Follow it past the colony's service entrance, leaving the side paths behind, and join a tarmac road. (1) Go downhill to the right (dead-end sign). Cross the Branlin by ford or footbridge. Arrive on the D7, cross carefully and go straight on for a good hundred metres. (2) Take the small path on the left, hidden under an arbour formed by the 2 side bouchures, which leads to a cross-country path. Turn left, go down to the first houses and come back to the D7. (3) Carefully cross the D7 and continue straight ahead on the track with a few houses on the left. In front of the farm building, the path turns 90°, again taking in shady areas. A new footbridge crosses the Branlin. (4) At the top of the path, turn right onto the tarmac road, leaving it and bending left onto a rising path. Keep to this main path. On the left, a window opens with a view of the hills, the water tower and a cell tower. Arrive at a farmhouse and a tarmac lane. (5) Turn left onto this road. Continue along the road, as beautiful trognes on either side of the road lead the way to the water tower and cell tower. Leaving the side paths, pass the only house in Les Jaluzots. (6) Go straight on to reach Les François. At the stop sign, cross the D22 and go almost straight ahead. Go straight ahead, passing the first track on the right and another immediately after on the left. (7) At the road, turn right. In the basin, pass over the discreet Pont Patrimonial, which can be discovered by descending carefully to the right. Cross the hamlet of Les Mussots, keeping to the road. (8) Take the Chemin des Boulats to the left. The semi-tarmac road ends at the only dwelling. Turn left onto a cross-country track, go downhill to reach an open space. Continue for a few dozen metres. (9) Turn left along the hedge. Climb this path, reaching the undergrowth and then a forest track. Continue straight on, arriving at the D160 road, which you take on the left, keeping to the left-hand shoulder. (10) Just before the farmhouse at Beauregard, turn left onto an inconspicuous track. Le Ferrier de la Garenne is now underfoot. After skirting the field, turn left at a bend (this first track on the IGN map no longer exists), and keep left (on the right are some old rails in storage). (11) At the crossroads, take the path opposite, passing a picnic area on your right. Then keep to the left of the main path. (12) This leads to a clearing with picnic tables opposite, a forge and a replica of a low furnace installed by the Tannerre Ironworks Association. Do not go any further (except for a more in-depth visit). Turn right towards Le Puits. Pass the old well on your right, and continue slightly to the left. (13) At the signposted "Centre ville" crossroads, follow the field fence back down to the village. Pass under the portico indicating one of the entrances to this site. At Rue Carreau, turn left. In front of Église Saint-Martin, turn right, cross the two bridges and arrive in the courtyard of the town hall (D/A).
