If you want to work with leather without sewing, the belt workshop is for you. During this workshop you will discover all the traditional steps of making a handcrafted belt, from the cut to the finish. You will leave with your own personalized belt! Manufacturing steps : - Discovery of materials and finishes - Hand cutting with specific tools - Cutting with cookie cutter - Preparation work - Assembly - Fitting of accessories - Finishing work To begin the workshop, you will choose your leather, your buckle and your finishing touches to personalize your belt. Then, you will start with the cutting, made with the strap cutter, simple and effective, this method is ideal for making unique pieces. You will continue with the tracing of the markings to then use the cutters and make the strap, the mortise, the loop and your personalization (small leather piece). Once the pieces are cut and the holes made, you will be able to work on beautiful finishes that will give all the authenticity and quality of a handcrafted leather belt. You will then be able to discover several traditional and manual tools, such as the abat carre which makes it possible to round off the slices, you will also use a filleting iron to make a net near the edges. To obtain a beautiful slice while keeping the natural aspect of the leather, you will use a colorless wax, which you will deposit delicately on the edge of the belt. To perfect your finishing touches, you will apply a nice patina using elbow grease and a few manufacturing secrets? To finish this workshop, you will use the hand press to place the rivets on your belt and you will screw the button to mount the mortise on your strap. And that's it, your personalized belt is finished. Duration of the workshop: 3 hours 15 years old minimum
