ECLUSE DE "PENDU"

The old causeway, whose existence is attested to in the late 11th century, ensured the operation of two mills: the Grand Pendu, on the right bank, and the Petit Pendu, on the left bank. Equipped with a marinière gate in the 16th century, it was replaced by a lock dam in the 19th century. The project, drawn up by the Ponts et Chaussées engineer Dupuy, was carried out under the supervision of his successor Asselin by the contractor Genève-Brault, chosen in the tender of August 8, 1860.
