A grandiose and monumental site, the castle and the village of Castelbouc invite contemplation. The castle is perched on a pedestal, and overlooks the village dug in troglodytes in the limestone rock. Legend has it that in 1095, when all the lords and men-at-arms set off in search of the Tomb of Christ in Palestine, the lord stayed at the castle to hold the stronghold that Castelbouc represents. After a few feats of arms, the lord attracted the favours of the surrounding ladies, and did everything possible to satisfy their desires, so much so that he ended up dying. After his death, a billy goat, symbol of virility, appeared above the castle and then went towards the horizon. Old and typical houses of the region, flowered alleys and small pebble beach will make you enjoy the beauty of this site as well as the freshness of the Tarn.
