GR3® DE LA POMMERAYE À CHAMPTOCEAUX

The GR®3 is the first long distance hiking trail in France! Today, the trail follows the Loire Valley in its entirety, from Mount Gerbier de Jonc in Ardèche to La Baule over a distance of 1,243 km. Traditionally, the route starts in Guérande, but recently, the GR has been extended to La Baule through the salt marshes. In the Mauges, stages 8 and 9 take hikers between steep hillsides, small streams lined with mills, and typical villages starting at La Pommeraye. The banks of the Loire at Saint-Florent-le-Vieil are sure to amaze hikers! Join Champtoceaux, passing near the birthplace of the famous poet: Joachim Du Bellay.
